The North Carolina Legal Resource Finder is a project of the NC Equal Justice Alliance. The project’s mission is to help North Carolina residents find legal help and information. 

The programs listed in our directory are nonprofits that offer free or low cost legal services. The information listed about each program is provided by the organization listed. We cannot guarantee that they will be able to help you or take your case. Each program makes its own decisions about whether they can help.

Most of these programs can only serve low-income North Carolina residents. Some programs can help North Carolina residents of any income, particularly if you are age 60 or older, have a disability, or are a victim of crime or abuse.

We also have links to legal information created by legal services programs, government agencies, and other not-for-profit entities.

We are funded by grants; we do not accept payment from the programs listed in the directory.
